Echo is accepting applications for the firm’s summer internship program in the fields of Finance, Accounting, and Marketing/Communications. In addition to completion and presentation of a concentration-related project, interns will engage in departmental rotations to obtain a full understanding of the firm’s business model and work collaboratively to assist in the identification, research, valuation modeling, reporting, and monitoring of prospective and current investments.
This is a full time, eight-week paid summer internship in Oklahoma City.
Responsibilities
- Interns will be expected to operate in a start-up environment and, where appropriate, exhibit independence and leadership potential.
- Research, document, and prepare a hand selected project to be presented to firm management at the end of the internship.
- Research information and sources on industry trends and screen potential deals and complete internal screening analysis.
- Interns will collaborate and interact with professionals across all business units within Echo.
- Complete rotations with each business discipline to gain a complete understanding of how the firm operates as a whole.
- Collaborate with intern class to organize and execute firm wide community impact events.
Qualifications
- Actively pursuing undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, or other related business field from accredited university.
- Eager to gain biotech, life science venture investment, private equity, or investment experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Knowledge of principles and practices of financial management and financial analysis.
- Basic PC knowledge and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel preferred (financial modeling, pivot tables, management, and formatting/visualization of high-volume data).
- Strong problem-solving ability and the capacity to creatively identify solutions for acquiring, transforming, or transposing hard-to-acquire data in ways that inform Echo’s decision making and communicate Echo’s value.
- Analytical skills and research abilities.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and well written reports.
- Capability to work effectively with others, to take feedback positively, and to make direct and data-informed recommendations to senior management.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- A passion for innovation and transformational economic activity.
